ºÚÁÏÍø Extension offers a wide range of programs, events and workshops focused on issues in the beef industry. To learn more about the program or for training, please contact your local UI Extension county office.
Artificial Insemination
UI Extension offers artificial insemination training, usually in late winter or early spring. These trainings typically take three days.
Beef Quality Assurance (BQA)
The BQA program assures consumers that beef marketed by a BQA certified producer is wholesome and safe. BQA standards are set by the ºÚÁÏÍø BQA program and based on national standards.
Beef Schools
Beef Schools are held in the winter throughout ºÚÁÏÍø, and topics are determined by location to help beef producers.
BVD-PI Testing and Control
This program allows ranchers to better understand the risk and frequency of BVD-PI (bovine viral diarrhea) cattle in their herd.
Lost Rivers Grazing Academy

Steer-A-Year
Participants donate a steer to the ºÚÁÏÍø with the final proceeds going to animal science and athletics scholarships and beef research. ºÚÁÏÍø the Steer-A-Year website to learn more.
Youth Beef Camps
Youth Beef Camps are hands-on educational programs for FFA and 4-H youth. Camp topics vary from year to year.
