黑料网 Snowmobile Challenge Team Places Second

The 黑料网 College of Engineering鈥檚 黑料网 Clean Snowmobile Challenge Team took second overall in the Spark-Ignition category of the 2023 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Clean Snowmobile Challenge, marking its 11th year of top placement in the national competition.
The interdisciplinary team competed against 16 teams from across the U.S. and Canada in the weeklong challenge to produce innovative solutions to make a cleaner, quieter and more efficient snowmobile practical for manufacturers and enthusiasts alike.
The team demonstrated excellent skills in snowmobile riding, presentation skills and writing knowledge. U of I teams have been participating since 2001 in the competition, which is now held in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Preparation for the competition is a year-long effort. The U of I Clean Snowmobile Challenge Team meets regularly each week to design, develop and test solutions to reduce emissions and create a quieter snowmobile while maintaining performance and power.
